Tennis Elbow Physiotherapy
Lateral epicondylalgia, known commonly as tennis elbow, is a common cause of elbow joint pain.
The pain usually comes from a tendinosis of the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) tendon. This typically happens 1-2cm from its attachment to the lateral epicondyle.
While tennis players can certainly develop this condition, it doesn’t exist in this population exclusively. Tasks involving repetitive gripping and wrist extension can trigger this condition therefore it’s common amongst gym-goers and office workers to name a few.
